Gladsaxe Friluftsbad

Gladsaxe Friluftsbad is the outdoor pool of Gladsaxe's municipal sports facilities on Vandtårnsvej in Søborg, with access from Gladsaxe Svømmehal. From 1 October to 1 April the pool is open for winter bathing, and the sauna by the pool has a large window overlooking the outdoor pool. Everyday use of the sauna requires a season subscription and your own access fob, while sauna sessions require booking. Changing rooms and showers are in the basement under Hall 1, facing Vandtårnsvej.

Sauna sessions at Gladsaxe Friluftsbad take place outdoors during the winter bathing season, in the sauna by the outdoor pool, where the large window looks out over the pool. A session lasts an hour and is led by one of the sports facilities' trained sauna hosts, who plans the session. The sauna host pours water mixed with essential oils onto the hot stones and swings the towel vigorously, so the heat and scents reach everyone in the sauna. Only the sauna hosts may pour water and oil on the stones, which is why sessions are held outside the sauna's regular opening hours. You can buy a single session or a 10-visit card. Wear swimwear and sit on a towel, and if you want to use a locker in the changing room, bring your own padlock.
