Sauna session in Slagelse

Slagelse has two sauna venues, and they are each other's opposites: a closed garden and the town's municipal swimming pool.

Livsbevidst is a membership club with a sauna, an ice barrel and sauna sessions behind "Huset for krop, sind og bevægelse" on Rugvænget. The sessions themselves require no membership: one lasts about 75 minutes and consists of three rounds in the sauna of roughly 12 minutes each, with breaks where you can take a cold shower or a dip in the ice barrel. Certified sauna hosts lead them, and water, electrolytes and snacks are always available. The garden is fenced and screened, so the heat stays calm and undisturbed, and there are changing facilities on site. The minimum age for booking is 15.

Slagelse Svømmehal on Antvorskov Allé is run by Slagelse Municipality and holds sauna sessions as early-morning sessions on Fridays in two time slots, with the season starting in September. The session takes place in the women's sauna but is open to both men and women: screens are put up for privacy, and everyone meets in the hall and goes in together. It costs 20 kroner on top of the entrance ticket.

If you want a whole evening in a closed garden with regular groups, choose Livsbevidst. If you want an early Friday in an ordinary swimming pool for a small extra charge, choose the swimming pool.
