Lynæs Surfcenter

Lynæs Surfcenter sits on Lynæs Havnevej by Lynæs beach north of Hundested, and the sauna stands down by the shore with a view across the water. It seats 12 people, and right outside are two cold-water tubs, a shower and a toilet. The sauna can be rented privately all year round, and through spring, autumn and winter the centre runs sauna sessions at fixed times. The beach bar is open before and after, so you can get a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Sauna sessions at Lynæs Surfcenter are held in the sauna down by the beach, where you look out over the water while the heat builds. A session is three hot rounds with essential oils, and along the way you get a short talk about the oils and their aromatherapeutic properties. Between the rounds there are two breaks where you can cool all the way down - jump into the fjord, dip into one of the two cold-water tubs, or take a brisk rinse under the shower. The whole thing lasts about an hour, and the sauna is warm half an hour beforehand, so come in good time. You check in at the blue surf wagon in the garden, and the changing rooms open a quarter of an hour before - drink plenty of water beforehand.
