Sauna session in Køge

Køge has three gus venues, and they are three very different ways into the heat: a sauna club, a small garden house and the town's municipal pool.

Gusio is a sauna club that wants to make the sauna experience modern and accessible. The programme is split into clear formats: Deep and High Heat for those who want to feel the heat, Flow and Morgengus for a calmer session, and Energy when things need to speed up. Themed evenings such as technogus, women's sessions and Sjælens Rejse appear now and then, and a few times a year the format is stretched into a longer gus journey with many rounds. Scented oils, calm movement and a cold-water dip are the common thread, and there are snacks and free parking on site.

Dharma Sauna is the opposite in scale: a small, atmospheric sauna in the middle of Køge, set up in an old 1930s garden house. The venue is run by Bo and Maria, life companions and sauna hosts, and the setting is deliberately intimate, so there's time and space for each guest. Between rounds you cool off under the cold shower or in the cold-water tub, and besides the open sessions there are also private arrangements for up to eight people.

Køge Svømmeland in Ølbycenter is the town's municipal pool with a 25-metre pool, a fun pool, a diving pool, a baby pool, a jacuzzi and a slide, and under the same roof there's a gym and Café Bassinkanten. The sauna sessions are held in the shared sauna, where men and women sit together in swimwear, while the women's sauna hosts the women-only session. There's free parking at the entrance, so it's easy to combine a swim with a session afterwards.
