Sauna session in Viborg

Viborg has sauna sessions in three places, and they are very different: a small community in the middle of town and two municipal baths.

JOYU Community is on Fredensgade in the heart of Viborg, a community built around sauna sessions, ice baths, yoga and mindfulness. Sessions take place in the house's own sauna at around 85 degrees and zero to ten percent humidity, based on the South German tradition where "aufguss" means pouring water on the stove. The scents from the essential oils change from session to session, so the effect varies from relaxing to invigorating.

Vestbadet Viborg is the town's open-air bath on Rughavevej, which through winter becomes the setting for sauna sessions and winter bathing. The sauna has panoramic windows, and a session ticket gives two hours with the option of cold dips in the 50-metre pool and winter bathing in the "Store Klaus" tub. In the breaks people gather in the café.

Viborg Svømmehal by Banegårdspladsen has sauna sessions in its wellness area with a sauna, steam bath and bubble pool. There is a session every day, and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings sessions with ticket sales run at fixed times. The session ticket is paid on top of the regular entry fee at reception.
