Privacy policy
Version 1.0. The Danish text is the governing version.
You can use GoSauna without telling us who you are. Everything below concerns what happens if you create a profile, write a review or contact us.
1. Who is responsible
GoSauna is run by Anders Andersen, Bregnevej 19, 2820 Gentofte, Denmark, who is the data controller. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page.
2. What we store, and why
Your profile. Your email address and your name, and optionally a postcode and town plus the language you want emails in. We need the email address to send you what you have asked for; the name is used when we write to you. All communication is by email — we do not ask for your phone number and do not send text messages.
What you follow. Your favourite venues, your watches (venues, themes, weekdays, time of day), alerts on sold-out sessions, and sessions you follow. This is what makes the notifications possible.
Your consents. For each type of message: whether you said yes, when, from which page, and which version of this policy applied at the time. We keep it so we can show what you actually agreed to.
Reviews. Stars and any text you write, shown publicly with your first name.
Bookings you click through to. When you use “Book with provider”, we note which session and when — so we can ask a couple of hours afterwards whether you would like to review it. Nothing is sent to the venue.
If you register a venue or claim one. Your name, email, phone number and any note. None of it is published; only a GoSauna administrator can see it.
Technical. Server logs with IP address and browser, kept short-term for operation and security. Errors are logged so we can fix them.
3. Our legal basis
Notifications and newsletters are sent on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Your profile and the notifications you have asked for are processed to deliver the service you signed up for. Server logs, error logging and visitor statistics rest on our legitimate interest in a site that works and is not abused.
4. Visitor statistics
We measure visits with Umami, which runs on our own server. It uses no cookies, does not follow you across other sites, and does not build a profile of you. We see pages, referrers and rough figures — not who you are. The data does not leave our server, which is why there is no cookie banner on this site.
5. Cookies
We use four small cookies, all strictly for the site to work: your login session (90 days), a remembered email address on your own device so you do not have to type it (you can clear it with “That is not me” on the login page), your language choice, and a security cookie that protects forms against misuse. No advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Who else sees the data
We never sell your data, and we never pass it to the venues. A few suppliers process data on our behalf, on written terms:
- Hetzner (Falkenstein, Germany) — hosts the server where everything is stored.
- Cloudflare — delivers the site and sees the requests, including IP addresses.
- Resend (USA) — sends our emails, and therefore receives your address and the content of the message. Transfers rest on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses.
- Sentry (EU region, Germany) — receives error reports, which may contain a page address and technical details.
- Simply.com (Denmark) — hosts our mailbox, so an email you send us is stored there.
7. How long we keep it
Your profile is kept as long as you use GoSauna. If you have not been active for 12 months, everything is deleted automatically — profile, consents, watches and reviews. A sign-up you never confirm is deleted after 72 hours. Sent emails are kept for 30 days in our log (90 days if delivery failed permanently, so we can see why).
8. Your rights
You may see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to a processing, and withdraw a consent. Most of it you can do yourself: every notification can be turned off on your profile, every email has an unsubscribe link, and “Delete my account permanently” on your profile removes everything at once. Otherwise write to us, and you will hear back within a month.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can complain to Datatilsynet, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, datatilsynet.dk.
9. Changes
The version in force is always shown at the top of this page. If we change something material, we will say so — and where a consent is involved, we will ask again.
