Assens Vinterbadere

Sauna sessions at Assens Vinterbadere are for members of the club only: access to the bath house requires a paid membership and the personal key fob the club issues to each member. The club is based in a new bath house on Mariendal Strand in the northern part of Assens, where the sauna has a large window facing Lillebælt and the bathing jetty is a few steps away on the beach. The bath house has changing rooms and toilets, and there is a defibrillator by the entrance door; the changing rooms are open weekdays 6-22 and weekends 7-22, and the sauna is guaranteed hot every day 7-9 and 16-19. The club is a community for anyone who enjoys the cold shock of Lillebælt - whatever your age, experience, pace or disability - and it has a Hippocampe beach wheelchair that bathers with reduced mobility can borrow to get down to the water.

Our sauna sessions require membership of the club, and members book their own spot on the club's own site. A session lasts about an hour and is split into three rounds of 10-15 minutes, and between rounds you cool down with a dip in Lillebælt right outside the door. We use high-quality essential oils, and the theme changes from time to time: well-being, deep calm, herbs, a sauna story and sessions with music - both as an early morning session and as an evening session after work. The sauna holds 15 people, and the sessions are led by the club's own trained sauna hosts. Get into the water and drink plenty before you start, bring a thick towel to sit on, and tell us if you are allergic to anything in particular.
