Den Gamle Have

Den Gamle Have is sauna host Gitte Minck's own garden in Haderslev, where a wooden sauna and a cold plunge tub set the scene for small, close-knit sauna gus evenings. The garden is enclosed by tall hedges, so the experience feels private and sheltered even in the middle of town. There is room for about a dozen participants at a time, and Gitte - who is also a sauna host at Haderslev Vinterbadeklub by the harbour - leads the evenings herself or together with other sauna hosts.

Saunagus at Den Gamle Have takes place in a small wooden sauna in the back garden, where a named sauna host from the evening's team guides you through hot rounds in smaller company than most other venues. Alongside the regular evening there is regularly a Friday format with extra rounds, a festive mood and what the house's own team calls "fire and grounding". Between rounds you cool down in the cold plunge tub just outside the sauna, and snacks, fruit and chocolate are served - a touch from the host's own chocolate business. Spots are few, so book well in advance if you want to join in the small garden.
