Sauna session in Hedehusene

Hedehusene has two sauna venues, and they are opposite extremes: the municipal swimming pool and a family-run sauna house with ten places.

Fløng Svømmehal on Fløng Byvej is run by the sports team of Høje-Taastrup Municipality together with Taastrup Svømmehal, and it has a swimming pool, a sauna and free parking. The session is held in a shared sauna for both men and women, so swimwear is required; it lasts roughly 12-20 minutes, there must be at least three participants, and there is room for twelve. The sauna host pours aromatic scents over the stones and spreads the hot steam around the room, and on some Fridays the hall holds a wellness evening with several groups the same night and the option of adding a massage. You need a valid entry ticket for the pool to take part.

Klub-Nok Sauna on Industrivej is the opposite in scale - you follow the signs to the sauna, where there is room for ten guests, so you sit close to the sauna host and far from a crowded room. The programme alternates between two regular formats: Fyraftensgus, where oils and music are chosen to drop the shoulders after a long day at work, and FormiddagsGus, where the oils are picked for their uplifting qualities. A session lasts around an hour and a half, and the rounds of 10-12 minutes are broken up by pauses where you cool down under the cold-water shower. No experience is needed, the sauna host guides you through the whole thing, and you decide how long you stay in the heat. The venue also hosts private events such as stag and hen parties, company events, anniversaries and themed sessions for women, men and children. Bring two towels, swimwear, a water bottle and flip-flops - and if you own a sauna hat, wear it.
