Sauna session in Assens

Assens has one sauna venue: Assens Vinterbadere, a winter bathing club in a new bathhouse at Mariendal Strand north of town.

Sauna sessions at the club are for members only - you need a paid membership and an access fob to the bathhouse, which has a large window facing the Little Belt and sits a few steps from the bathing jetty. A session lasts around an hour, split into three rounds of 10-15 minutes, and between rounds you cool off with a dip in the Little Belt right outside. High-quality essential oils are used, and the theme changes each time - wellbeing, deep calm, herbs, a sauna story or a session with music - held both as a morning session and as an evening session after work. The sauna holds 15 people, and sessions are run by the club's own trained sauna hosts. The bathhouse has changing rooms, toilets and a defibrillator by the entrance, and the club has a Hippocampe beach wheelchair so guests with mobility impairments can also get into the water.
