Sauna session in a wood-fired sauna

A wood-fired sauna heats with fire rather than an electric element, and you can feel the difference: the heat comes in waves rather than evenly, the air is drier, and there is the sound and smell of wood throughout. Ten venues burn wood — La Sauna in Aarhus, Odense and Silkeborg, Skovgus in Espergærde, SOMA Sauna Gus near Gedved, Schellerup Gård outside Herning, Poppelly Wellness in Havdrup, SaunaTribe on Funen, Butchers Heat and Træk vejret. Several are outdoors, where the stove is also what makes a session possible all year.
