Sauna sessions in Vestegnen

Vestegnen, the western suburbs of Copenhagen, is the place for sauna sessions close to the city without going into it: here the sessions take place in swimming pools, sports centres and small sauna studios in the business districts.

In Hvidovre, Insight CPH on Stenstykkevej has cold tubs at 0-2 degrees and a wide team of sauna hosts, Guseksperterne runs small groups on Gungevej, SaunaStudio is in the same town, and Avedøre Idrætscenter holds sessions in the pool in Avedøre Stationsby.

In Rødovre, Hot Box ApS and Hot Box Steel Box Cph run the same mobile sauna concept with room for 12 and an ice bath between rounds. Høje-Taastrup Municipality holds sessions in both Taastrup Svømmehal and Fløng Svømmehal in Hedehusene, in a shared sauna where swimwear is required, and Klub-Nok Sauna in Hedehusene is a family-run sauna house with ten seats.

The municipal pools play a big part here. East Kilbride Badet in Ballerup holds sessions in a panorama sauna with an outdoor cold pool, Albertslund Svøm & Fitness uses an infrared sauna with only nine seats, Glostrup Idrætsanlæg has its session on the pool's quiet evening, and Vallensbæk Vand- og Idrætsby holds sessions in the Finnish sauna in the shared area. Vestbad, owned jointly by Rødovre and Brøndby, has sessions more spread out over the year.

That makes Vestegnen a good place for your first sauna session: a pool ticket, swimwear and a towel, and you are in.
