Sauna session in Aalborg

Aalborg has sauna venues that are each a different way into the heat: a water and culture house, a heat-and-cold concept, a harbour sauna with hot tubs, and a mobile sauna cabin by the sailing club.

Haraldslund Vand og Kulturhus is a water and culture house for the whole family, where sauna sessions are run as aromatherapy: the sauna host pours essential oils mixed in water onto the hot stones and spreads scent, heat and steam through the room. Longer themed sessions are also offered.

Thimms offers sauna sessions and ice bathing under the concept Restore, focused on the interplay between heat and cold and its effect on body and mind. During sessions you feel the heat, the scent and the music.

Aalborg Heat is located at Østre Havn, right next to the cable park, with saunas and hot tubs along the quay. The large sauna has a big glass front with panoramic harbour views and room for 18, plus barrel saunas for six and four hot tubs heated up to 40 degrees. For cooling down there are cold tubs, and you can take a quick dip in the harbour basin. The venue has heated changing huts, showers, lockers and a bar.

Saunahytten Aalborg Sejlklub is the largest of the Saunahytten chain's mobile sauna cabins, built by Martin Funke, who built the very first cabin back in 2015. Heat comes from a wood-fired stove with lava stones, and a large panoramic window faces the marina. A session lasts an hour and is three rounds with essential oils and towel work, with a chance for a dip between rounds, and the cabin holds up to 18 guests. Spaces are limited, so sessions are booked in advance.
